God Bless Chris Ting

I'm not ready to put him up there with Gandhi, Cesar Chavez, or Martin Luther King Jr...but, damn. Greatness is rare, people. Appreciate it!!!

Much like my first time, my bracket has busted prematurely.

I hate to break it to you, but women don't care that you have a Twitter. They're into you because you have HBO!

To Our Health...

Lately I've been asking myself: What's keeping me from being the healthiest person I can be? A number of things come to mind. My biggest issue is my appetite for destruction (not the GNR album). When it comes to eating food, I'd say I'm somewhere between Joey Chestnut and Rusty Ryan. In my path to wellness, portion control will be atop my list of challenges. Believe it or not, I don't always make the best decisions in terms of what I consume either (I doubt Michael Phelps is downing hot links and maple glazed donuts...well, maybe after a "session" he is).

Another factor that comes into play is alcohol. In the words of the great, Jamie Foxx....nevermind. Drinking responsibly in moderation is totally fine--it's something I really should do more often. But honestly, if you're serious about fitness, you know that the consumption of alcohol can slow down your progress and defeat the purpose of your efforts in spin class or in the weight room. Have you ever done Bikram Yoga hungover? Not fun.

To save this post from being totally negative, I am happy that I'm able to make time for fitness about four to five days a week. I'm also really blessed to have health conscious friends that share my love for excercise. You won't turn into an Adonis or Jillian Michaels overnight. Hell, maybe that's not even your goal. Being healthy is about balance and moderation. For me I want to be realistic and keep it simple:

Eat right. Excercise. Sleep at least eight hours a day (as opposed to getting down all night...thank you, KC and the Sunshine Band).

Which reminds me...why am I still up? Cheers (it's hard to communicate via blog that I'm raising a protein shake right now). Anyhoot, see you at strip aerobics!!!

WBC

Not a lot of folks are too excited about the World Baseball Classic. I LOVE watching baseball. It's probably the sport I enjoy watching the most and definitely the game I'm most familiar with. Personally, I think the WBC is pretty exciting. Take last weekend's game between the US and our neighbor to the north. That was legendary!!! It's exciting, competitive baseball in March for crying out loud. On top of that, I'm a big fan of international competition along with the spirit and patriotism associated with such events. Of course I'm rooting for the US of A but it's neat to see teams like the Netherlands beat powerhouses like the Dominican Republic.

If you haven't watched yet, I encourage you to give it a shot. You WILL NOT regret it.
