Stating The Obvious

I'm happy for Clay. In a recent statement, Simon Cowell said: "Good for him. If he said it, it's the right thing for him. ... I don't think anyone cares. Let's face it. It's 2008. You know. Who cares?" Simon brings up a good point but the sad thing is that we live in a society where people make a "big deal" about someone in the limelight coming out of the closet. On the flip side, when public figures like Clay "come out" it seems to inspire and give the general public the courage to do so as well.

In closing, I don't think anyone was surprised by Clay's announcement earlier this week. It's like me saying that Michael Pelayo likes wine or that Sarah Palin is hot.

Knowing whether or not I enjoy a fine glass of 1973 Cab with my filet mignon ain't gonna benefit anybody else. That kind of thing is not important. That's something I have to take up with my God and my family.
