The Closer

While engaging in tomfoolery with Em and Mike at Candlestick Friday, somehow the subject of sports anthems came up. I asked, if you were a big league closer, what song would you come out to? Em of course thought that "Hate Me Now" was the way to go since Huston Street made that his selection when he was with her beloved A's. Sadly, the best Mike could come up with was "I Gotta Feeling" by BEP. I at the time was thinking "Back in Black" by ACDC only because I thought it was sheer genius when Trevor Hoffman walked into "Hells Bells" (mind you I'm a die hard Giants fan--Padres suck...this is all about the music).

Upon thinking about it, I've changed my mind. ACDC is great and badass and manly but it's also cliche in terms of sports anthems. "Thunderstruck", "Highway to Hell", "Shook Me All Night Long"--it's all been done. That's not for me. If I wanted to get pumped to throw heaters past the meat of the opposing team's order, I'd need a song to get me fired up each and every time. What better than a little Danzig to shut 'em down?!
